My Brainless Meanderings

Born Gertrude Mary Bright my Grandmother lived 89 full happy years. She went to be with her Lord April 24, 2007. She leaves behind a husband, 3 children, 9 granchildren, and 8 great-grand children. She was an amzing woman who spoiled us all with cookies and love.

Grandma will be missed terribly, but we know she is in a better place.

Grandma, we miss you, we love you and we will never forget you.

Goodbye

One scruffy Dad & a frog

Look Ma! I can climb!

Yes, I'm still around!

Happy Easter! just a note to all those CEO's (Christmas & Easter Only's) who read my blog. Get your butt into a good church in your area. You cannot imagine the blessings waiting for you there. Let's celebrate Easter not for fuzzy little rabbits or multi colored easter eggs, but for the glorious ressurection of out Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My good friend Mrs. McNeil (take that Jess!) gently reminded me that I have not updated my blog so here we are.

First and foremost my family is doing great. Yvonne is balancing being nearly 7 months pregnant and a little massage work (outside the house) very well. It's hard to image we will have another "bundle of joy" or "arrow in my quiver" (Thanks Matt!) in a few weeks.

Gideon is a maniac. We love him a ton. See the picture also posted today for proof. He greatly enjoys marching around the stud and looking at bulls and playing in puddles.

My job has been interesting the last month. I am currently working out of the Balzac location of Alta Genetics Inc. I am looking after the Imports & Exports for all the beef semen being moved. I am greatly anticipating the end of breeding season as this has been the hardest year I have had thus far.

Yvonne and I are leaving for a quick getaway to Marco Island Florida in less than a month. It will be our first vacation without Gideon. Although we will miss him greatly, My best friend's wedding we are attending will keep us hopping.

Well, that's it. In a nutshell. Please drop me a line if you care to hear more. Or stop in, the coffee is always on.

Oh Boy!

Well, I got word that tommorrow I will get Laid off. Yes, Independent Breeders Service, the company I have work happily for the last 4 years has been sold. We have been sold to our larger competitor Alta Genetics. The change will in some ways be a welcome one, as we have been short staffed (like anywhere else in Alberta) for a while. There will be more details to follow on my soon to be bumpy spring.

Oh, I guess that I should mention, that I do not lose the house we are living in and I will be offered a new job as well. What a answer to prayer!

A New Month

Well, Gideon has the plauge. He is slowly recovering but is His usual good natured self despite his ailment. Yvonne went to work today for the first time in a little while. While Sharon agreed to look after our little petri dish od disease, Yvonne went to cover a few shifts for HER massage therapist. Yvonne's therapist is having emergency surgrey right now, so Yvonne is watching the shop until she can come back to work. Work is picking up with a 50,000 dose shipment to leave for Brasil as soon as I can.

It has its mother's eyes!

The new face

Well, we went to the ultrasound today. We saw two feet, a couple of hands, ear, face, fingers etc. It looks like all the important pieces are there. I am trying to put a picture on here, but I am having trouble. I imagine it is because I am still on dial up. But I will keep trying.

Our date does not change at all. We are 17-18 weeks along. You do the math, I'm too lazy.

Oops!

My dear wife let me lnow that my last post was somewhat incorrect. Yes, we are still expcting another little blessing, but it is not coming in May. Apparently it will be somtime in June. We will be going for a ultrasound soon, so details to follow.

My best friend is getting married in Florida im May. As a result, I have started to work off the "empathy weight" I put on when we were expecting Gideon. Nobody reminded ne how little I enjoyed working out in a gym.

Coming to my home in May!

Well I suppose all the people that need to know already have been notofied. Sometime in may of this year, my wife and I are expecting another child. Yvonne os doing really well. I have heard her comment a few times that "If the doctor did not say I was pregnant I would not believe it." Gideon will have a playmate in the next few months. I hope he will be excited as well.

What a week

Well, I got the good news this week that I did $3700 damage to my little Saturn SW2. It turns out that plastic has a tendency to shatter at -30 C and introduced to Stop sign. I don't know if we will fix it or take some insurance money to get what we can out of the car.

Yvonne has only two more shifts at Aura Spa. It will be nice to have Her home all the time.

My best friend Lyle has moved to Dubai. His fiancee is going over as well later this month. I look forward to stories from the desert.

Yvonne, Gideon & I off the coast of Tofino

Life is returning to normal

Yesterday myself and my familt started to recover from the last week of madness. Yvonne's family is back in their respective places. Her mother is at home in Viking, Her Aunt is on Her way home to Whitehorse, and Her Cousin is also on her way home to Whitehorse via Vancouver.

The 40th anniversary went really well. Other than some bumps with computer equipment, it seems like everyone had a good time. We has over 30 people out to the farm after the dinner for a little more time to visit and catch up.

Gideon made the most of his newly empty home by punching his teeth through his bottom lip. It bled a little, but after the initial crying returned to his usual good natured self.

Now all that is left is to clean the house and get the computer set up again.

They're Back!

We picke up my wife's Mother, Aunt, and Cousin from the airport yesterday. They have just returned from finishing the Dublin marathon in Ireland. They had a wonderful time and put several hundred miles under their feet as they toure a little bit. It's nice to have them home even if they are not enjoying the cold and snow that was waiting for them.

It's gonna be busy!

First I would like to say that I love waking up to a mess of hoarfrost. I do not however enjoy driving down a dark, wet highway encompassed by the fog which creates the frost. Anyhoo, Yvonne's family is coming back from Dublin this week. Then I have the pleasant oppurtunity to drive them all back up to the farm on Friday night. I look forward to the stories of walking through fields of lucky clover and chasing leprechans.

Haloween

Well as I get older the less candy I get. I guess I am sending out my son to a party tonight dressed as a cow. I cannot afford the therapy he will require in the future.
